I was not aware of this before switching to the new YouTube layout myself. Apparently banners get scaled to half their size in each dimension when viewed on YouTube. The image you create has a 350px height for the desktop view, but when viewed on YouTube, those 350px only take up 175px on the screen. The width is also scaled down by half.
The result of this scaling is banners look blurry compared to how they look before uploading. Does anyone know a way to prevent YouTube from scaling the banner image? I don't like the blur, and it has thrown off my pixel-perfect imaging (although that can be fixed, blur can't).
