Avidemux doesn't save my video properly - help! :/

So, here I am, all happy to finally find a program to trim my video with and happy with my bad editing skills and now this happens.
Whenever I want to save a video it goes crazy and this happens*don't mind my lovely face in the background*:

What am I supposed to do?
 
Wow, no idea. I've never seen that happen before. Sounds like you better get out of copy mode :)
 
Yeah... I've downloaded this 1h ago. You think I know how to get out of copy mode? nope xD[DOUBLEPOST=1372549525,1372549064][/DOUBLEPOST]Saved it. Nailed it. Wait, oops, no. It's freaking damaged! I'm such a failure :(
 
There's a drop down on the left in the video section where copy is selected. What happens if you change it? I have no idea but this copy mode sounds very bad :p
 
I've got windows xp and I've got an old version of it that doesn't really trim them... or at least I can't find the option. The new version can't be downloaded to my computer and I have no idea how to install windows 7 or at least something better than xp to my computer because it's a fu*k.
