AVID Users?

Just wondering how many people here use AVID? If so how do like/dislike it compared to some of the other programs?

I have to use it for University. I think it has a very steep learning curve but once you get the hang of it it's fairly powerful.

I have been using AVID since 1997. Great Program.. But for my youtube stuff I either use Premier or Final Cut as I have my Avid bogged down with a bunch of other projects.

AVID is industry standard, it's pretty overkill for 90 percent of YouTube videos but very good..

The thing about Avid is that its short cut and key command heavy. There is no drag and drop. 90% of YouTubers would be turned off right away by this I would think. I learned Avid back in school, and the learning curve was insane. Once you get it, you can edit things fairly fast. I have my own method to editing, and I prefer to drag and drop clips. Premiere and Final Cut are just so much better for YouTube for the majority of people out there. I'd only go back to Avid if I was working on feature films.
