Audio recording software?

Hello YTtalk,
I have purchased an HD PVR which I will record Xbox gameplay with, using the software provided. I am going to be using Windows Live Movie Maker as the software which will edit the gameplay and the commentaries together (unless someone can recommend a better free one compatible with HD PVR). I need a free software which can record audio that can also export as a type compatible with WLMM (e.g. .asf, .wm or . wma). Can anyone recommend any?

I have tried that but Windows Movie Maker doesn't support any of the file types that you can export the audio track as?

For Audacity, make sure you installed Lame MP3 & FFmpeg, as seen on this page. Then you can export to MP3, which WMM should support.

^^ Totally forgot about the lamemp3 extention.

Sorry but WMM doesn't support it. It can only support .asf, .wm or .wma. It says that it doesn't support that file type.

Audacity is the best. And I've used the exported audio files with WMM before with out lamemp3.

Try Kristal Audio Engine, a friend of mine use it and got no problems

This the best to do commentary if you can never find your solution try using skype i did First.
