Audio Quality

I've Got It
Hey guys :D

So i recently got a blue snowball, and a pop filter, but i don't know what program to use to record my audio to make it a lot better quality, at the minute i'm using audacity but the quality isn't as good as i wanted it to be?

And also how far should i have the pop filter from the snowball, and how far should i have the snowball away from me?

The DAW (Digital Audio Workstation) doesn't work magic on the sound. If you have a bad recording, it's garbage in, garbage out. I've got a tutorial in my sig that goes through basic audio editing in Audacity and should help. Audacity may lack some features that other more expensive programs have, but for the most part it does everything just fine.

For mic positioning, the popfilter is fine about an inch from the mic. The mic itself should be positioned at your cheek (45 degrees to either side of your mouth), about 5-6 inches away (hand width works nicely for this). This maintains a high input volume from your voice, but also reduces the "plosives" which will be further reduced by your pop filter.

Tarmack is very knowledgeable in this subject. I suggest watch his video and do what he says. He helped me improve my quality a lot.
