Audacity worth using ?

Just wondering whether audacity is worth using for audio as it is quite a useful program but ive never used it myself

Audacity is a pretty good audio editing program according to most voice actors. I have no idea how to use it myself but I'm pretty sure they're right.

It is good to use for instance if you have background noise / interference in your audio you can remove it using audacity before importing it to editing software

I personally use Adobe Audition but Creative Cloud is pretty expensive. Audacity is free and can do the job good enough.

I used it for voiceovers for the longest time. I found that it met my needs very well.
It had a relatively simple learning curve and I found that once I knew what I needed to do to my audio, it was very fast.
In general, I would recommend it since it is simple, can meet your needs and (best of all) it's free.

I do gaming video's but I always take my voice track and run it through Audacity to remove any hum from computer fans or other ambient noise. Then I use its Noise Gate plugin to remove most of my breathing, as I breathe fairly loud and it annoys me.
