AT2020 picks up a lot of clicking and keyboard mashing. Any suggestions to solve it?

It's on a tripod on my desk next to my monitors and mouse. The mouse is usually at the back of it, and the keyboard is under the desk. There's no pop filter. Is it just that it shouldn't be placed there, or is it because I have no pop filter or are just my settings bad? It's really really annoying when I have to click a lot in a game. What do I do? Help please :)

Do you happen to have it set up with the shock mount as well? I've just ordered an AT2035 myself so depending on how things go when it arrives tomorrow I may be able to provide some feedback on how I've tried to solve it if I run into it as well.

Yeah the keyboard and mouse pressing is always a problem :) I find that it's better to have a larger stand for the microphone so that it is above your view to the screen (instead of under as when it's an the desk) pointing down to you. That way it minimizes the sound pick up from mouse and keyboard (and other things you might be messing about with on your table).

I've seen a few people do this so I'll make sure to heed your advice as well :)

I've ordered a better stand and a pop filter and gonna place the mic a little higher and away from the mouse and keyboard and gonna try it like that.

If you can arrange the setup to at least get the clicking quiet enough, you may be able to eliminate much of it with a noise gate across your audio track. But then again, that's me thinking "musically", ha ha... like to get rid of subtle background noise in a vocal track. :)

The AT2020 is best at about 6 inches from your mouth. With the gain set at that distance, and getting it up off the desk onto a proper stand, you won't hear much for clicks.

I think it has to do with post processing. You'll have to manually eliminate background noise through software's when you're done recording your videos and grab the audio file separately so you can tamper it during post production.
