ohhh ok? what program are you using to edit? i use adobe premeier cs6 now adobe has ways to sync up audio and video pretty well. my personal favorite is zooming far into the footage on the time line to almost frame by frame. it allows me most control when syncing audio once you do that you can sync the audio and video files up manually pretty easily and from there you just add the video files you want to move between over top of the main footage. you can also cut it up how ever you want it as well. the method i told you should work pretty well. no matter what editor you use

when you zoom in. you can pretty much go frame by frame. so its actually pretty easy to to sync it up if you play the music while syncing it up

I am new to Youtube and video editing, having recently aquired a Drift Ghost-S action camera to use on my motorbike, and am discovering very quickly, that I am clueless when it comes to formatting and rendering and exporting etc.

I have iMovie '09 (v 8.0.6) and have edited a few videos to how I want them, but after exporting and uploading to Youtube, I am finding that the playback is fine on my Macbook Pro, but heavily pixelated on iPhone or iPad.

I created a 2.5 min clip that was recorded at 720p @ 60fps and I exported it in a variety of formats:

Test 1.

Export to Quicktime.
Compression type: MPEG4
Frame rate: 30fps
Key frames: Auto
Data rate: Auto
Compressor: Best
Dimensions: HD 1280 x 720 16:9
Exported file size: 1.04GB

Test 2.

Export to Quicktime.
Compression type: H.264
Key frames: Auto
Data rate: Auto
Compressor: High
Dimensions: HD 1280 x 720 16:9
Exported file size: 279mb

Test 3.

Export to Quicktime.
Compression type: MPEG4
Frame rate: 30fps
Key frames: Auto
Data rate: Auto
Compressor: High
Dimensions: HD 1280 x 720 16:9
Exported file size: 485mb

All these tests can be seen on my channel.

Also on my channel there is a vid entitled 'Drift-S Road test - North Devon' which I created a couple of weeks ago, it was recorded at between 1080p @ 30fps and 1080p @ 60fps. I cannot for the life of me remember how I exported it, but it came out fine on Macbook Pro and iPhone/iPad etc.

If anyone is able to guide me on the best settings to film with on my camera and then the best settings to export finished edit from iMovie to be uploaded to Youtube for playback on a range of devices from iPhone to TV, then I will be extremely grateful.
