Are Presets Copyrighted in Video Editing?

Whats up people the question that came into my mind while editing a montage are the presets copyrighted the effect they use in to make the colors corrections in sony vegas different for say if i download presets pack from someone who claims that they made their presets free for everyone is that in anyway consider copyrighted?
 
To be honest, I can't see it really being a problem unless you advertise that you've done it. I know that might come across as dishonest, but that'd be like (for e.g.) Windows Movie Maker wanting royalties because that's the program you edited your video in. Know what I mean? :)

you could always also provide a link to whoever provided the pack. I'm sure they'd be more than grateful!
 
If color presets are copyrighted then so are volume settings, video resolution, etc.
