Anyone use iMovie? (Importing iPhone videos)

So all day I have been fighting with iMovie to import my videos from my iPhone. Usually when I plug in my phone, it brings up the videos and I import them with no problem. But today it seems like 8/10 times the box with iPhone videos will be empty. It is very annoying because I know the videos are on my phone, and they will occasionally pop up.

I tried googling it, but couldn't find what I was looking for. I was hoping someone on here knows anything about iMovie and maybe know the problem/how to fix it.

Do you by chance have access to any other editing software besides iMovie? If you have others I could walk you through that but I am not too familiar with iMovie.

Alternatively, you can import the videos to your hard drive with iPhoto, and then import them into iMovie from there.

dude, does your phone have wifi? Is it a smart phone? I went through the same thing, trying desperately to figure it out for hours, then it suddenly dawned on me "send it to yourself in an email through drop box, your phone goes ONLINE" I hope it's the same with you, cause if so, I just gave you your solution.

Pffffff, Movie Maker is the MOST pro out of all the software. The only reason I don't use it is because its to good for me.

Okay, I *could* be wrong, but I'm almost positive I've imported videos directly that way in the past.
