Anyone intimidated about showing their channel?

Yeah I've been told by many sources to steer clear of Reddit. I share my videos on twitter that seems the most appropriate place, and I may post occasionally on facebook but that depends on the video. I do share with my friends whats app group just because they appear in some of the videos.
In terms of growth I think twitter is good I just need to be more active on it.
But I am 'scared' to share it sometimes in case I receive negative feedback mainly for being just an average player.
