any tips on people actually interacting with you...?

I've Got It
Opposed to just watching videos. I get a few views a day(I started like 5 days ago) and have around 122 views and 1 subscriber who just wants me to subscribe back.

I want to do this the right way but no one is commenting / liking / subbing so I don't get any feedback whatsoever. No feedback = I don't know what to do D:

edit: Or is it just because I basically just started..?

You just started man. You will be alright dude haha.
Watching your videos again...I would make sure your mic volume is up just a little bit higher or maybe turn your video game volume down. Your videos have great quality besides that. Also maybe tell a story or something in between the silent parts. When doing video game commentary there are a lot of times where there is nothing going on. Someone once said on this forum...I think it was Token...when you do video game commentary make sure you got 3-4 side story's to tell before you even start playing...they don't even have to be about the game just something to keep us entertained. That would really help someone like me because I have not even heard of the video game you are playing. Other then that man you will find your way. Keep asking for help to. This forum is filled with smart people.

Yeah I ordered a new mic today to replace my crappy quality one. I turned my mic audio as loud it went during editing so yeah. I'm still kind of "microphone shy" I'm usually a huge goof ball and pretty hilarious. I hope it comes with experience.

I would agree that it's probably just because your so new; you can try sites like Fireviews and the such (i've gotten a fair number of subscribers and comments there). Some people say using sites like that is a cheap way of promoting yourself and that your cheating 'the system' though so you may want to consider that before joining a site like that

Yeah I don't plan on doing any of that. Like more than likely those people will never watch your videos ever again. I want legitimate fans!

But I will just agree that it's cause im new to stay positive lol. A baby can't walk!

The comment to view ratio is very low man. For every 300 views I get on a video I might get 20 comments. Sometimes more sometimes less. I've watched 100 views go by and I've got like 8 comments, it's totally normal. Sounds like you're doing fine.

Thanks for the reassurance haha!

Also, people don't sub often really at all unless your content is really unique. If you are doing something well but alot of other channels are doing it too, you might get like one true sub a week or something like that. I know channels on here that are just awesome and do what they do really well, and they will go long periods of time with no subs at all, it's not easy to get people to sub, I'll give you some pointers on what can help a little later or maybe you could pm me to remind me but I'm so freakin busy right now, getting a new background and banner made and planning some videos for next week, but I'll try to help you out when I can man.

i dont get a ton of comments/likes/subs but i do get some. like, each of my videos at least has some comments, which is at least something. i try to keep it interactive by asking the viewers questions like, what do you think? or what are your favorite...? whatever is relevant to the video. stuff like that should come naturally and not sound forced, because the great thing about youtube is how we all share with each other. dont think of your viewers as fans. think of them as part of your community. i think that approach should get viewers to open up and feel comfortable leaving comments. i mean, im not a big shot successful youtuber or anything, but thats just what i think. ive only been making videos for 5 months, but i am having fun doing it and thats why i continue to do it. dont focus too much on numbers. focus on putting out content you are passionate about, and assure your viewers that you want their feedback and enjoy interacting with them. hope i helped.
