Any tips on monetizing?

As you may know YouTube has changed its monetization terms and since I read through them I was thinking about just one thing:

"Should I monetize my videos? If yes, should I do it at a certain point (for example at 1000 subs)?"

I'm just asking for some advice here because I'm lost :help:

Just the legal stuff is killing me! Let me get this straight: I can monetize a video when I own EVERYTHING in it or when I'm at least allowed to do so (stock images, ccMusic, own produced content, etc.)?

Please correct me if I'm wrong and maybe give me some advise (from personal experience?) on how to and when to monetize your videos...

Thanks in advance guys, love to be part of this community!

Anyone can monetize their own content. But is it worth it to you to add the ads to your videos? Are you getting about 1000 views per video (in about the first week), otherwise it isn't worth monetizing, in my opinion of course.

in simple terms this is all you need to know:

mobile phones are where people view the ads, the PC side is only 20%. you gain money if you favor moblie more than PC users.

dont start at a young channel, wait at least until you have people who share your videos.

gaming channel is random, you either become successful or you dont.

read the creative common laws, its the internet law for copyright.

buying more games does not gain views it could also lead to a copyright strike because you fail to understand the game terms and condition.

dont sell stuff and dont beg for money on youtube.

lastly giveaways dont work, people will leave you once you have nothing to offer.

So long as you either created or have the right to use everything in your videos, you can monetize at any time. If anyone else can claim ownership of the copyright, they can either claim your video (and put their own ads on it) or have it removed completely (multiple strike can cause major problems for you with YouTube).

As mentioned, unless you're getting a decent number of views daily/ monthly, there really is no point in monetizing. Give or take, it typically takes between 1-2k views to earn $1. Since you don't get paid until you reach $100, it makes no sense to bother your viewers with ads if you'll never get paid.

When you begin to reach 50k views or so a month, then it should be time to think about monetizing your work.

There is unconfirmed rumour that monetization helps with channel promotion by YT algorithm. So if you didn't upload copyrighted materials may be you better monetize.

.

If you're not getting at least $3 per 1k views, your content is either real low quality with a high abandonment rate, or your audience demographics attracts amazingly low paying ads.
