The only cheap mic that is any good are portable audio recorders like the h1, but they are a pain in editing, but if that's your only budget it is better than a cheap wireless. If you want wireless then get the sennheiser ew100, that is the cheapest wireless that is good enough quality to use right now, unless you are filming in the middle of nowhere you will regret buying a cheaper one.
Doing pranks are one of the best ways to get over being shy haha. Before I was really shy so my friends and I just did semi pranks (asking random girls to marry us etc.) and picked up girls to get over it before I ever thought of making videos.
