Any need for licencing on brands?

I know you need a license to use peoples music, footage(Movies, Tv programs). But do you need license or permission to use brands in your video, say Smirnoff, Nestle, Adidas, Logitech, Redbull, Monster energy, Pepsi etc.
For use in stuff like tutorials, reviews, entertainment.

Perfect example

Throughout the video he is smoking Marlboro(lets say you can see the brand name), would that be ok or would I need permission?

And at the end of the film you also see the Marlboro logo? would that be ok or would that need permission?

Sorry for asking twice. Just want a better understanding of this whole Copyright stuff.

In our videos, especially our latest, you can clearly see many brand names, including Tesco and Poundland. This hasn't been an issue for us, and youtube haven't contacted us regarding the issue, I too am unclear on the situation.

Just checked your video and your ok by the Uk fair use act - ""Incidental inclusion""

What is incidental inclusion? This is where part of a work is unintentionally included. A typical examples of this would be a case where holiday movie inadvertently captured part of a copyright work, such as some background music, or a poster that just happened to on a wall in the background.

:)

Glad to know we're not breaking the law :) Thanks for the clear-up, much appreciated.

I know wish someone could help me out lol :p

Just found out

You do not need permission to show logos, as long as you are not trading off those logos. In other words, as long as you are not using the logos in order to imply that your product is linked to that company, there is no problem.
