Any help or advise here? It seems they're literally claiming the sound effects of waves washing over rocks. A previous video was claimed and we used the feature to remove it, but all it did was remove the sound of waves washing over rocks, not any particular music or song, and only for 10 seconds or so.... the rest of the video went by just fine despite it still having the sounds of waves washing over rocks. For whatever reason those 10 seconds out of a long video was the big problem and the rest was just fine. So... now that they're claiming another video with the same sound effects, what can we do? I mean c'mon... how can anyone own beach sound effects? And I have not heard of any Nancy Drew LP-er having any kind of claim problem... like... ever.

Looked up the copyright but the company itself doesn't seem to have anything on it other than (c) 2010 Hot Ideas which has no information to it. So it doesn't constitute a proper copyright.
But they do use their services through Amazon and the License agreement state's that it can be used but only for non-commercial agreements. Which means no monitization without their
consent

That's how this place goes, if you want to use someone else intellectual property you have to get permission first. General clips aren't usually an issue of around 10 seconds or less, but when it's larger than that it's a problem. This track specifically is considered ambient music. Not sure who nancy drew is but most likely she goes through the right channels before publishing anything with music or copyright material. Also if you get a partnership they generally have access taken care of with some copyright material, media library's and so forth.

Oh, well Nancy Drew is the name of the game series itself, which is based on a book series.

I decided to contact Her Interactive, the company that publishes the game directly. I hope they can help because this is the silliest claim ever.[DOUBLEPOST=1453337462,1453265128][/DOUBLEPOST]When trying to file the dispute, none of the options really go with what I'm trying to say here. The right option would be like 'there is a mistake and this company really doesn't own it like they think they do'. I even contacted the game company itself and even them, the creators of the game have never heard of Hot Ideas, nor have they ever been contacted by them to use their music/sound/whatever in their game. You know something is screwy when the company iself never heard of these guys. I wish Youtube would just give the option to write a damn letter, we can even copy and paste the email Her Interactive themselves sent us.
