Any critiques on my channel?

Hello everyone! New to the forums and don't have a lot of videos posted yet, but I was looking to get some honest opinions on what people think about my gaming channel that I'm trying to get going again. Anything from banners, icons, and thumbnails, to video quality and content. Some disclaimers: Some of the videos are quite old, so keep that in mind as far as video quality is concerned on the older ones. There are also parts of my language that is a little NSFW since I'm trying to have some comedic effect in them (many of the videos are a mix of informational and comedy, or just compilations), so if you're offended by swearing, you may want to steer clear. Thanks in advance to everyone for the advice! I promise I'll not take offense to any constructive criticism offered. :)

- Your banner could pop a bit more. The background is very useful, but the way you fill that background with text and images can use some work. Try to make it pop and make it more gaming.
- Your thumbnails need bigger text. Your middle earth thumbnails are already on the verge of being hard to read on a monitor, which pretty much means that they are unreadable on a phone for instance
- Your thumbnails don't stand out. The decapitation thumbnail could be so much better if you used more vibrant colors and emphasized that decapitated head more, just to name 2 things.
- I watched your brutal kill compilation video: video quality is good. Good flow in terms of not taking to long to come to the point and stuff. This is 100% my own opinion, but a compilation should not be 11 minutes though. It's just too long for something that is pretty much a rapid fire of unrelated clips.

Hope my comment has any value to you! :)

Thanks for the honest and good feedback MentallyGames! I had some similar thoughts on some of that myself. I'm working on something a little more vibrant for my banner. For the compilation vid, I basically just took a screenshot of something in the game and used that, so I could definitely alter that a bit to make it stand out more.

Thanks Phillewee, I will definitely work on that. Maybe less words so I can just enhance the text.

I think you need to transition between what you're talking about better. Like in the Ys video, you go from talking about the opening cutscene, to showing a montage, to talking about the art style, and it doesn't really feel like it has any rhyme or reason. Like each topic you discuss in a video should have a beginning middle and an end. For instance in that video, maybe go from the opening cutscene into game play, start talking about the gameplay, show the montage and talk about what it is about the gameplay that you like, find a way to wrap it up nicely, then move on to talking about the artwork. And that should go for your more structured videos, for something like the Shadow of War videos you really wouldn't have to worry about that.

Other than that I'd say what you're saying is interesting and funny and keeps me invested, just try and organize what you're saying a little more.

Thanks for the input! Yeah, I do tend to jump around a lot. Since I'm doing a lot of it for comedic effect, my organization probably isn't what you'd expect from a typical review, since it's only meant to be partially informative. I'm trying to do some things a little differently to stand out from the typical monotony of a game review. I agree that it could be better though. I'll keep working on it for my next videos. Thanks again!
