AMV ideas

I'm thinking about making an AMV featuring clips from the Sailor Moon Crystal anime, using Momoiro Clover Z's MOON PRIDE.

But I have a ton of questions:
I won't get into legal trouble, will I?
How long should I make the clips?
Shout I cut the song/shorten it?

This is my first time making an AMV.

AMVs fall under fair use. You shouldn't get in trouble but many copyright holders don't care, and youtube's algorithm to catch copyright content doesn't care either. If you do get a take down notice or something, just know the law is on your side and worst case your video gets taken down.

The clip length can be as long as you like, but most AMVs I've seen only use 1-3 seconds. As for the song, it's best you don't use the full version and alter it the best you can. The song is where most people have problems with copyright.
