AMD for Rendering?

What do you guys think of AMD for rendering on the big NLEs (premiere, vegas, etc)? Cuda with Nvidea works great, but does OpenCL for AMD work well? Thanks.

Yeah, if it is a strong enough card, then it'll work fine and differences will be minimal.

AMD should work just fine. Once you get into 3d editing you may want to look into intel though. It'll speed things up quite a bit.

Thanks guys. Also, can someone explain the AMD tiering system? I understand Nvideas, the first number represents how new it is, the second number how powerful, and the third number is micro architecture (usually just a 5). Eg. GT 750. Intel's is also straightforward. Thanks again.
