I just want to know, how do you put music with your vids without getting copyright? Do I just write in the description the songs name and who its from? Anyways thanks:)

you must have permission from the music artist/author. Some people don't want their credit only show in description, but give them credit in your videos. in the beginner or the end of videos.

If you're trying to monetize the video, you have to have proof that you're allowed to use it. However, if you just want to upload a video with music in it that's not your own, just credit it, preferably in the video. YouTube can be weird about it, so don't worry TOO much if you get some kind of warning.

How do you do this if you are monetising the video??

At the moment I only use some background music thats free - the built in ones from Final Cut!

If you're monetizing the video, look to the creator of the original song. In the case of something that's actually on the radio...ehhhh, don't get your hopes up, you'll need to contact the band or the producer of the song, someone who OWNS it. If it's something lesser known or even a local band, you'll have a lot more luck, as I've found that many of them are excited to have you link to them and give them viewers through you.

From a personal note, we've tried putting in remixes of "Vampire Killer," the 8-Bit theme of the game "Castlevania," as well as the original song, and both times we we're declined for monetizing. We are working on getting a friend to do a personal remix of the theme, but even then, since it's based off of the original song, I don't know if we will be allowed to monetize a video with that as well. All of our other videos seem perfectly fine.

you need to get royalty free music and be sure to ask some up coming youtube artist to use there song and tell them you will give them credit in the description for the song! most dig it

That should be fine for monetization. In their end user agreement it should say you can use those royalty free. Same goes for all the garageband loops
