Am I doing things right?

Hey all,

My name is Chipface and here I am posting in regards to channel reviews. If possible, I would love if anyone could give me constructive feedback regarding my channel in hopes that I can possibly improve upon these things and expand and grow my channel.

To begin with, I would like to know if my channel art and thumbnails are up to scratch? I have been using Photoshop for around 4 years now and I believe that my skills are competent enough to create decent looking channel art and thumbnails. What do you think? Is there anything I could approve upon etc?

Secondly, this may be a bit of a tricky one, but I keep getting people saying things like "you should have at least 1000 subscribers" or "your channel is very professional and should be bigger", but I want to know why isn't it? I get these compliments which I am so grateful for, but my channel is just not growing. The most subscribers I got to was 153, but right now it's currently 149. What am I doing wrong?

Finally, I just want to know in general if there's anything you could find when browsing through my channel of which things I could improve? You can be as honest as you like, even if it is mean because I genuinely want to hear your thoughts.

I look forward to seeing what you have to see and here's to improving my channel!

Thanks :D

your channel has a really professional look and what your subs said is really true you should have more subscribers, but I' ll give you some reasons why not:
- You had your channel just for 4 months you need to be patient, a lot of people almost take a year only to arrive to 100 subscribers so oconsider your self lucky
-Gaming is a HUGE community, let me reapeat a HUGE community therefore if your personality is not on point people will not subscribe, i watched few of your videos and your personallity is ok you always feel present which is nice but you need to ask yourself this question. Why would someone subscribe to me when there is someone else who does the same thing as I do in my channel and has subscribers than i do and a better personalty than i do and a better art than i do?
WOULD YOU SUBSCRIBE to TWO IDENTICAL? what I'm trying to say is that unless you bring something new. people wil see your channel as an 'ordinary' channel, just another gameplay channel, who do not bring nothing new. Now, as I said before your channel is only 4 months old so if you keep putting the work in you shall se results. I hope this willl help think about something you could implement on your videos to make the stand-out.
I will give you a parctical example with what i did with my drawig channel. What i noticed in the drawing community is that people tend to only draw single characters so what i did is starting to draw full scenes taking from animes, really popular (I would search for top 10 anime sceneswith millions of views) and what that did was making me stand out and i got 600 subscribes in 4 months with only 7315 total views!!!! you see people subscribed imidietally beause they never saw somenone elese doing something like that. But I'm not here to brag I'm here to help try watching dozens of other channels gameplay videos and think what they could have done to ikmprove it and iplement that thing on your channel and you will see people will subscribe. PEACE

Thanks Kalu, I appreciate all the feedback :). Just as a side note, I've actually had my channel since October 2016 with me uploading until April 2017. I took a break until Janauary 2018 and am back into uploading :). But you're exactly right. I'm just having trouble finding the thing that makes me different from other channels.

oh really? i probably forgot to click the 'Load More' Button. Try not to get worn out with to much uploads if you feel eaxausted instead of taking a full break , which can really hurt your channel, try to upload once a week or even one every two weeks. I know channels that uploads only once every month and they are doing fine. Good Luck

Thank you my friend! Appreciate the review :)

Hi, I am in the same position I feel like my channel is professional and but it's just so hard to grow. If I'm honest I don't think there is much else you can do, you have good quality, good quantity just not the views. The one thing which I try to do is upload a video based on the trendiest things in the gaming community. For example, I'm focused on Fortnite and COD, if there are any sort of leaks or new things, I will be straight onto it asap, because if you upload what people are searching for the chances are your views can shoot up. It's not that people don't want to sub, it's more that people don't know you exist.

Good Luck!

I originally wanted to record Fortnite but unfortunately I don't like that game anymore, but you are exactly right! Thanks for the help!

From what I saw on your channel, you do have nice thumbnails, channel art and your videos are good quality. Like others suggested, I think playing games where more people are looking for content may be beneficial.
