Am I Doing It Wrong?...

I just went ahead and checked out your a couple of your BF1 videos; both the thoughts and dog tag videos. I'm honestly very impressed. You have a great microphone (whatever you did in your latest video was perfect because your voice was clear and up to the mic, as well as a good volume). You use great wording when talking, it's not basic words, but more complex descriptive words that make you sound professional and know what you're talking about. I suppose your main concern is that your videos are getting slight attention.

That's the bad part about YouTube, is simply starting off. It's going to be very minimal, until you actually start growing slowly and getting shared, viewed, etc. Luckily for me, I made a series that a lot of people liked. Some may say I did the same thing as a different YouTuber, however, I did it in my own unique way, and that got myself a little more attention and viewers. I supposed the best tip I can give from a 1990 subscribed YouTuber, is try making a video on something people would love to watch, and not many people have made videos on it. I've found, that making videos on something that has been made so much to the point where there's 9 pages of the search, won't do too much. I still have a lot of work to do before I can even try helping people out from a reliable stand point, but I just thought since I'm still smaller, but have made it past that difficult 100 subscriber point, that I could give my opinion on your channel, and try to help as much as possible to get those tough numbers to come your way.

Something easy to do, and get maybe a couple hundred views, is to make a video on a game right when it comes out. Or maybe make a video on a game DLC right when it comes out, because there won't be many for the time being, and you can get some people to come watch you, since you definitely deserve it in my opinion. You got talent, keep working man!

Wow, these are extremely inspiring words man! I wasnt quite sure whether I was even doing a decent job or not... so grateful for the feedback and will absolutely try to make videos on newer topics in order to get some of the initial views. hopefully I can make it somewhere near to where you are now!

Hey Xeros,

Some tips, that might not get more people to your channel, but will make the channel seem more professional, would be to improve you channel art (banner, avatar, thumbnails) and your channel description.

Starting with the description, you want to make sure to add links to your media, such as twitter, facebook, google+ or anything else. Also add a some more explanation of what you did in the video, maybe what the game is about, there is a lot that could be added, even if it will only be for yourself as a reference in the future to see what you did in a particular video.

The channel art will be a bit more complicated and will need more work. There are free programs such as Paint.NET or GIMP that can really help make simple but well personalised and engaging art. Do not have something that is too plain otherwise people will forget about the channel, but do not have something too complicated otherwise it will look messy. This goes for both you banner and your avatar.

The thumbnails need an upgrade, on your first video the thumbnail is really impossible to read and it has black borders which you do not want at all. On the second video the text in the bubble is difficult to read and it is ab it difficult to see the other bubble making it seem like it is the person's thought. It is a good idea, just, it can be better implemented. With the third the text is legible, but the colours are really not matching with the type of video and it looks very unprofessional, you want something that still looks the part, not just something to grab people's attention.

I hope that helps :) Best of luck!

Everything takes a bit of time. And I know how devastating it can feel when something you put your maximum effort into doesn't get any recognition. But I try to tell myself each day that if I do what makes me happy, surely people will notice that eventually.
To me it is more important to have 10 subscribers who really enjoy your content than having 10.000 subscribers who doesn't give a damn. It is a difficult mindset to get into, but I think it is vital :)

I went ahead and subscribed to you!

Do what you do as long as you love doing it and great things will follow. I believe in you!

Thank you for the feedback! I am aware that the art side of my channel needs great improvement, I've only ever made a few thumbnails so am getting used to it and will eventually use photoshop to make them more professional. I think I may need to find someone to create a banner and maybe an avatar though as I am not the best at that sort of thing... I will update my descriptions and will, from now on, make them more descriptive of the content. I appreciate the help! :)

Thank so so much for the inspirational words, I believe I may be close to that mindset, I have fun doing this and dont plan on stopping anytime soon! And also thank you so much for subscribing! its funny how much seeing your channel go from 0 to 2 subscribers over night can really affect you haha. Take care man! :)

Yes, using Photoshop would be great for thumbnails. If you could somehow get a nice screenshot from your video and use text with great font, color, and size to make it pop, it should be nice. I went ahead and subscribed because I'm looking forward to more content from you. Will spread the word! :)
