Am I allowed to use this?

Basically, I'm confused about what I am and am not allowed to use. I'm making a channel that is going to have a lot to do with crime. Apart from generic royalty free images, for some cases I'll actually want pictures of the actual individuals/crime scenes. What are the laws on what I can and cannot use. Like for example in HodgeTwins videos they use photos of people, and I assume it's all allowed.

Also for facts videos. If I'm, for example, looking to make a review about the most calorific fast food items. What are the rules on the images I'm allowed to include? Can I use the images from their site, as I've seen done in other fact channels, like alltime10s?

Images can be copyrighted, its just there isn't an automated system to catch pictures in a video (yet), so thats why people use them, sometimes thumbnails get flagged for copyright images. Its always a risk using something that isn't in the free domain/royalty free or your own. I've heard of videos getting flagged for using copyrighted images as well, i just think it's rare.
