Allowed to reuse the music from videos with CC license?

I want to use songs (covers) that people have uploaded to youtube that have been assigned a creative commons license. Do any of you already do that?

I don't see any problem with that since technically youtube videos with a CC license are allowed for (commercial) reuse as long as you put a link back to the video. Sure, there are going to be some youtube videos that ppl don't have the rights to but have assigned a CC license to anyway, so you gotta be particular to make sure the channel is genuine..

Yeah I think all cc license on youtube are under cc 3.0 unported so you can use it on your own work so long as you don't sell it and provide attribution (so a link in the description). But, I've heard of a lot of people getting screwed over by alleged 'copright free' channels and you're right you really don't have any proof that they own the work to start with. Use at your peril, personally I'd stick with sources you trust
