After Minecraft...

I've seen so many Minecraft gamers on here. Entire libraries and series dedicated to the games. The question is, what will replace it?

I'm hoping this line of thought will start a discussion on the subject. Followed by planning for the next wave.

Minecraft isn't the most viewed game on Youtube, it's probably the one with the most collective views overall, but at the moment many other things are more popular. As for minecraft content it's just easy to make, however there's no need to "replace" minecraft, as it isn't really a titan reigning above all others.

For example within FPS's there was a need to replace COD, seeing as that formula was selling so well less new FPS's saw the light of day. This is different, it's just a popular game.

Personally I think that MOBA's are on the rise, they've been picking up so much heat over the past 4 years, and now they're the biggest in the world in terms of livestreaming (both twitch and Youtube). The competitive scene has grown so strong, and the learning curve isn't that steep anymore.

I have been playing & recording a voxel game called Trove that is currently in Alpha. It is in the early stages now, but it is pretty awesome already. For those who like Minecraft and/or Cube World, they should check it out sometime.
