Hey ther3alg4ming;
I know where you're coming from. I still live with my family and I'm embarrassed to film when they're around. The vast majority of your personality is formed during your childhood, then the next largest phase is your adolescence. I'm willing to bet your family has been critical of you for trying new things before, right? Here's the thing: that criticism, from a young age and from two years ago, is shaping your personality. I admire your courage for going ahead anyway and making videos. You can't let their criticism control you for the rest of your life. It won't just be for making videos either. You'll subconsciously be afraid of doing anything new or exciting. So that said, you're obviously going after what you want anyway (awesome man!).
The fear and embarrassment aren't just affecting your videos, it's affecting everything. You can't just get over the fear of making the videos. You have to attack the heart of the problem and that is the critical nature of your family. You're already doing your videos, good, keep that up. But start doing new things ALL the time! Anything your family thinks is stupid, go and do it anyway. Make a list. And make sure they know. Do EVERYTHING you're afraid of. Go talk to the cute girl in class. Stand up to people who are mean to you. You need to grow courage and conquer all of your fears. Make their criticisms worthless. Believe in yourself. You don't have to do anything big all at once. Start small and keep going. As you grow stronger from facing your fears your family will come to respect your for your courage, and if they don't then whatever. It's easy to sit back and criticize, it takes guts to go after what you want.
