Hey guys dont know if this is the right place but here it goes Ive always afriad of a family member finding out I make youtube videos. The Reason why was because cause a couple years ago my brother made fun of me of it and my step dad it was stupid and pointless. So I stopped for two years and starting it back up two years ago. I always turn on a fan a keep quiet so no one can hear me and its really affecting my videos. My question is how can I get over this. I know a odd question but, I love making youtube videos just this is really affecting my channel/

You can wait until college. That's what I did and so far my mom has absolutely no idea I have a YouTube channel. Otherwise the only 2 solutions I can think of are 1) record while everyone else is out of the house and 2) record at a friend's house.

You should just do what you want, I know it may kill your spirit if they say theres no point but thats your hobby and you should embrace it, I dont really talk much at school cause I'ma nervous wreck around people I dont know but when it comes to youtube I just try to talk constantly about almost anything and I show it on my facebook even when I get weird sometimes and people I know locally isnt used to seeing me act like that.[DOUBLEPOST=1399348765,1399348733][/DOUBLEPOST]
There's really only one solution. You have to kill your family.
Possible Option XD

If you love to do it just do it! If your brother makes fun of you ignore the hell out of him -_- is your life not his. No one can tell you what to do with your life, you make the decisions.

kind of the same path I was going to suggest. You can either kill them or green screen them... By green screen I mean red walls after hammers shatter their skulls and you bathe in their room temperature blood... They don't have to be dead with the hammer method, but their blood has to add to the comfort of your bath, otherwise it's pointless... On a positive note, if someone hammers a nail into you on Cinco De Mayo, you probably won't feel it because you're drunk. Now say your ABCs sideways and take the reddish blue pill

Hey ther3alg4ming;
I know where you're coming from. I still live with my family and I'm embarrassed to film when they're around. The vast majority of your personality is formed during your childhood, then the next largest phase is your adolescence. I'm willing to bet your family has been critical of you for trying new things before, right? Here's the thing: that criticism, from a young age and from two years ago, is shaping your personality. I admire your courage for going ahead anyway and making videos. You can't let their criticism control you for the rest of your life. It won't just be for making videos either. You'll subconsciously be afraid of doing anything new or exciting. So that said, you're obviously going after what you want anyway (awesome man!).
The fear and embarrassment aren't just affecting your videos, it's affecting everything. You can't just get over the fear of making the videos. You have to attack the heart of the problem and that is the critical nature of your family. You're already doing your videos, good, keep that up. But start doing new things ALL the time! Anything your family thinks is stupid, go and do it anyway. Make a list. And make sure they know. Do EVERYTHING you're afraid of. Go talk to the cute girl in class. Stand up to people who are mean to you. You need to grow courage and conquer all of your fears. Make their criticisms worthless. Believe in yourself. You don't have to do anything big all at once. Start small and keep going. As you grow stronger from facing your fears your family will come to respect your for your courage, and if they don't then whatever. It's easy to sit back and criticize, it takes guts to go after what you want.
