Hi guys so I'm pretty new to uploading to youtube.
I'mean a mechanical technician by trade and was thinking of starting a channel dedicated to 'how to' videos and step by step guides, but not long guides just short precise guides.
Or me and my girlfriend wind each other up constantly so maybe going down the road of Pranking each other.
I've had a little test by uploading 6 videos but was thinking what would you guys think best? I really want to get involved in youtube and be a success as I enjoy making and editing videos.
Any ideas and feedback where I should head from here would be great.

Thanks
Josh

Hi , welcome to YTtalk.

I've moved your thread to the ideas / planning forum. :)

To fix your link, please follow the instructions in this post: http://yttalk.com/threads/how-to-add-your-youtube-channel-to-every-message-post.32/

Hello Josh! Both sound fantastic ideas, I would go with trying them out and see how they go. I adore the pranking ideas! Also, I always like to ask what kind of videos do you like to watch on youtube? Those are the videos that I enjoy making too <3

Thanks for your input guys, The videos I've uploaded so far ain't great, just a mess about really.
I've got some really good prank ideas that I want to do.
As for the tutorial guide, I feel I should specialise in a certain type of mechanics or a certain brand to keep the videos relevant otherwise it might end up being a jumble of junk otherwise![DOUBLEPOST=1470121408,1470121273][/DOUBLEPOST]

I must admit anything funny I will enjoy watching! I do love the prank videos and things like that. I don't really watch tutorial videos as Imuch the type of person to work things out myself!

Well than do something that you'd love to watch <3

Do a Youtube comedy called "Mechanical Horror Stories" where you make videos about funny and crazy situations that happened at work. I have a friend who used to work at a hotel and she had some really funny stories about problem customers.

People love concise and interesting how-to videos. It depends on what your target audience is, as to what type of video you should make. If you want to appeal to the widest audience possible, I would do short, concise, and interesting videos using your knowledge. Without your knowledge, it's hard for me to speculate as to what the content would be, but using my imagination, here are some ideas:

1. How to create a simple (thing) with household items
2. Showcasing an interesting piece of equipment or technology and how powerful/useful it is
3. Why do engines (or something else) (have/don't have) (thing) [maybe you see what I'm getting at here, tailor this premise to what you know and find interesting]
4. Think of a question or misnomer people often have about something you know about and teach people about it with a demonstration and metaphors

I recommend checking out the channel "Smarter Every Day".

Good luck!
