Advice about subscribers! HELP

I am not getting any more subscribers! A while ago I was Derpin around on youtube and I saw something that said "promote your channel here" so I wrote stuff in the comments like "check out my channel" and stuff like that. Then after I had gotten a bunch of subscribers I noticed that a bunch of people were messaging me stuff like "sub me back" and "subxsub" then I realized that it was all sub 4 sub. Then I got out of it and never did it again. I'm at about 390 subscribers. I put out a video every Friday. I am not gaining any subscribers at all! Please help.
 
Well message your subs tell them to watch your vid xD I mean they subbed yu bcoz of yur awesome content :D Idea?
 
Just keep on making content that you enjoy :)

If you really want to get out there, you have to start promoting yourself :P

Post your content on various sites such as 9gag, reddit, funnyjunk etc

You just have to be creative in promoting in terms of tags, title etc :)
