Adding Power Levels like Mortal Kombat to Video

Munchito696

I Love YTtalk
Has anyone created power or life levels for their videos like Street Fighter or Mortal Kombat? I know a way I can do it, but it seems like a pain in the a**. I was wondering if anyone has done this and if they know of a fast way to do it.

I haven't done that before but you could make a bunch of different presets of it and animations to keep and then just pop them in there when necessary :)

I was thinking I could manually draw them and make .png files to overlay in the video, but that way seems like it will take forever. I'll have to get creative with it. I'm going to play around with my program if I ever have free time and add fighting special effects and life meters to some of my dog videos.

It can be done easier, with after effects you create a full powerbar and an empty one. Put them over each other on different layers and mask away the powers you lost. Perhaps it looks more complex then it is.

I use Cyberlink Powerdirector... I'll just ask my go-to software tutorial guy on Youtube.[DOUBLEPOST=1394828851,1394748098][/DOUBLEPOST]

Wow it's REALLY easy to do in PD11. I just created a bar in paint, saved as a PNG, then overlapped the video with it. When each "attack" occurs, I just shorten the png file. Right now I've been splitting the video where the bar shrinks, I have to figure out my keyframes when using overlapped pictures with video.

ok i'm glad you find a way to create the effect you wanted to use in your video.
is it online already? i sure will take a look.

No it won't be for a while, I need to edit some clips to make fight scenes. I still need some certain shots to make the ending of rounds seem right.
