60 fps 1080p recording, Fraps

I've Got It
Hello! I'm trying to make 60 fps 1080p gaming video, but looks like my hardware isnt good enought.
In game I have 100+ frames, with V-sync - 60
I fraps in 30 fps 1080, its ok
But when I fraps in 60 fps, fraps shows only 40-45 and it lag while recording.

My PC:

AMD A-10 3.7GHz
8 Gb RAM
GTX 660
HD WDC WD10 1TB 7200 rpm , I guess this is the problem, my hd isnt fast enough to record amount of data in 60 fps. Am I right? Do I need better HD?

Hi Slava!
If You wanna record with PC at 60fps while playing, well.. I highly reccomand:
  • an SSD where You render your video
  • game installed in a separate HDD
  • recording program in another SSD if possible but maybe you won't need
Try rendering in another HDD if You have not a SSD available =)[DOUBLEPOST=1433555523,1433555264][/DOUBLEPOST]uh... for some reasons:
Okay... :meh2:
Today I felt very disappointed w/ the Great G [hmm.. GG sounds good.... anyway!]

I started recording and editing in 50fps... so I searched on the help desk how to handle such a frame rate!

I thought... :bookworm2: I must, surelly, encode my video in 25/30fps and upload!

:eeks: BUT HEI! :eeks:
YouTube "suggests" to upload at the SAME frame rate the video was recorded.

RESULT:
from 720p to 1080p
, people can watch the video ONLY at 50fps!!!!!! :eeks:
It means that the most part of the world will see a not fluid video!!!!
THAT'S BAD!!! I immediatelly reported with a feedback! :facepalm2: Let's hope in a fix!!

and the most bad part is that audio and video in 1080 were out of 5 seconds in sync!!!! :banghead2:

What do You think about this?
Do You consider It like an error?
I think they'd to let people choose between 1080p25 and 1080p50 :bored2:
I reccomand uploading in 30fps until service is implemented or technologies update enough ;)

Firstly record in 30 fps unless you are doing slow motion stuff there's no need to go higher. Youtube encodes at 29.97 fps I think so 30 is the better option.

Secondly fraps is super laggy. It records a raw video file if I remember correctly. Pick up dxtory or OBS instead and you'll see less performance change.

I need 60 fps atm 1080p

I think in general my PC is good and my game dont need very strong hardware. But I have lag recording 60 fps. What part of PC is the most important in this situation? HD?

Fraps eats hardware like hell. I suggest you to pick up Open Broadcaster Software instead, it’s free, and not so resource intensive

for best quality
Okay.. let's put a little of clarity...
Human eyes can see fps up top 15 and for fusion and dynamics of these, 30fps is the besy choice.
Recording at more fps can be a cool way for gaining footage possibilities and to gain details when shooting with a camcorder.
but for a game.. I personally think that encoding at more than 30fps is really unuseful :) at least.. you could increase at the best your render quality and recording at 30 and not higher ^^

When I compare videos in 30 and in 50-60, I can see defference. 50-60 fps is much more smooth and better in general. May be not for all games, but for my its true.
To be honest, when I fraps, somethimes I have even ~25 frames, when record in 30. I mean my hardware is weak even for clear 30 in some scenes.

In my case it is important. And I would be very thankful if someone could help to make it clear to me, what part of my PC should I upgrade to frpas 60 fps 1080p without lags.
