Backgrounds are going away permanently at in this month, so I don't think there will be anyone wanting any...
 
Lol, old layout is going away and it is replaced with one channel. Banners will not go away, they'll stay for few years i think.

"Banners" are the clickable headers on the old layout. "Channel Art" which is on the new "One Channel" layout is just art and can not have clickable links on it.
