I see. Hmmm. I'll give one of your videos a look. I'm a little confused on how you can't record both game and commentary. I use Bandicam and it records my game sounds, but I record my commentary after my gameplay rather than live.

For an explanation about why videos on youtube, in general, get 301 views when there's a surge, search for "Numberphile 301 views" on youtube. These guys explain it perfectly.
