2 Simple Questions, hard answers?

Okay, so i am wondering what people use to record with, when playing on pc and ps3 (or a differnet console) also was wondering, what editor software do you use? At the moment i use Windows Movie Maker. Its okay, but im sure there are more different features on another program right? Was also wondering how could i make a better intro/trailer clip for my videos when i do them?

PC I used FRAPS and Bandicam, PS3 I would use a Hauppauge or Elgato HD Capture Card, Editing software I use AVS Video Editor, a lot of good features and a hell of a lot cheaper than Vegas Pro.
 
for pc i use FRAPS, and for Xbox (or ps3) i use a roxio gamecapture HD pro. i use vegas pro and video pad for editing

DxTory on PC and Hauppauge HD PVR for PS3 (works on Xbox aswell)

Sony Vegas Pro, got a discount on it so thats why I went for a professional piece of kit. Really good software and has a lot more useful features than Movie Maker :)

  • Make it short, about 30 seconds - 1 minute to keep peoples attention
  • Give an overview of what your channel is about
  • Use some appropriate music as audio always helps
  • Add a link somewhere on the video to subscribe so its easier for people
We have a few threads on things like this, you can also check out other people's trailers to get ideas. Like mine for example ;) which is in my signature below...

I use Fraps, DxTory, and Audacity on PC. I use Vegas Pro 12.0 to edit my videos.
 
PC I use a combination of FRAPS and Bandicam for the video and audacity for my commentary. For console footage I use the Hauppauge HD PVR Gaming Edition. Editing wise I use After Effects for idents and Premiere Pro for everything else like audio and video editing.
 
Since I live stream, I use X-split and OBS for my local recording as well. You can stream live AND local record to a separate file at the same time. Dxtory is great for games that don't like to be captured by other programs. I use Reaper for audio editing.

For console capture I use the Avermedia C985 Live Gamer HD Pro. This thing is unmatched for me so far. I've also used a black magic intensity and the live gamer hd blew it away.

I use Vegas Pro for editing, but we also use Premier on our web series.
