1k subs in the hardest niche seems impossible

I've Got It
I am stuck in the 260 range on subs. Over the past 2 weeks, I've gotten my videos shared by influencers on FB, Twitter, and Tumblr which increased views and watch time significantly. I am almost to the 250,000 watch time minute mark and my retention was up to 47% today overall in analytics. I am getting a lot of attention over seas. Poland has my back!

But what seems impossible is 1k subs. People just don't want to give it up. I thought my terrible social skills and comically poor video gameplay would make it happen, but I guess not. Is it normal to get that kind of watch time and so little subs?
 
Honestly, yes. It all depends, some just tend to watch videos and don't subscribe. It has happened to me before in my crafting videos. Since they are tutorials people don't tend to subscribe most of the times and the watch time and retention for those videos is pretty high.
 
yep i'm at 60,000 minutes or 1,000hrs for 43subs lol. your doing better than me. i've not made new content for weeks .. gettin bored already.
 
I had over 500,000 channel views before I was able to reach 1,000 subs. Sometimes it just takes a long time and I still have a fairly low sub count for my total views. It's a real grind, especially when you see someone else get a video with a few thousand views and get like 400 subscribers from that one video... I feel that some content pulls subscribers much better than others though. You may have to take a look at your data and try to determine which videos made people subscribe and then try to figure out why.
 
Seems to be that way for most Youtubers... Just continue making videos and odds are your subscribers will increase more and more. Also remember that Youtube suggests your videos to people that have watched them before, so you've probably already gained large community who haven't yet subscribed
 
It can be hard, but remember that one of the best ways to gain subscribers is to ask people, and to ask them right at the beginning and the end of the video. I find I gain more subs on the videos where I remember to ask.
 
I found that people subscribed when I asked them to, and I gained more subscribers with ‘relatable’ videos where I portrayed myself as someone they could be friends with. You’ll get there!!! I believe in you :D
