Youtuber Partnership/Monetization

Hey YTTalk, today while uploading a video, I thought I would take a look at the monetization option for my channel. I'm brand new and my first uploaded video was about 2 weeks ago.
So I am kind of wondering if anyone on this forum can clear something up for me;

What kind of benefits do I get? (Monetizing my videos to a youtube partnership.)
What does it do to my channel?
Is there any cons to having a partnership to youtube?

Also, I would like to know some opinions if I should monetize my videos. Let me know!

Thanks,
the PraximiusGaming Team

you can earn money if you monetize your videos, they will put ads on your videos but don't click the ads because it's illegal and youtube might disable your adsense

Monetizing is just simply you trying to make money off of your videos on YouTube. They simply place ads in or before your video and that is it. I don't know of any cons that could be associated with it and also you can unmonetize at any time. I guess it is all your preference.

Basically, monetizing your videos means you are able to make revenue off of your content. However since you are a gaming channel, I wouldn't really recommend it. There is many issues with monetizing game videos, one of which is that YouTube will place your videos under review at times and then they stop the monetization of the video because you don't own the content and you need to prove you have the permission to monetize it. You are best off just growing your channel, and looking to join a network.

This is all true. I didn't notice that you were a gaming channel. They are a little more difficult to monetize because of copyright and ownership of the game doesn't belong to you. Dananuh is right by saying try to get your views up and join a network. Otherwise you will be going down a sketchy road.

yeah, you can join a network without Adsense, just focus on growing your channel. You have nice videos, make it widescreen next time, networks love widescreen videos lol

I like all of the opinions you gave me, I have been looking at the post before on the networks and requirements, if you guys are with a network,
What did you look for when you guys were choosing a network?
Should I be getting into a network at the stage? (I've been looking at RPM)
If I should wait to get more views, What should I do to advertise my channel/videos more? It seems like I have tried everything in the book.

You can still monetize gaming videos when you aren't with a network you just have to make sure it falls under fair use law (the network just gives you a bit more leverage, they don't actually have licensing for the most part). As for purely monetizing through YouTube I don't see any point till you get a good stream of daily views as their is always the risk that you will get click bombed and then be banned from Adsense for life which can cause troubles going with a network.[DOUBLEPOST=1365776373,1365776292][/DOUBLEPOST]

No you shouldn't even be thinking of a network till you get to at least 100 views daily (I recommend higher than that). The more views per day you have the more seriously a network will take you and the more leverage you will have in negotiating a contract. At this stage you would gain little (if anything) from having a partnership.
