Youtube won't let me monetize!!!

Symph

I'm a dude with a face and I know how to use it.
Like 5 of my music videos they have just removed the option to monetize. Not only are these songs 100 percent MY creations, but I only upload songs I LEGALLY own the copyright too, like paid the government and EVERYTHING. I tell them this in the monetization request, so what the hell do I do?? I see no way to contact them to even complain!!! Like how do I get this fixed??

"you upload your video, you fill in the monetization form and save it, then YOU DO NOT put a title, description or tags, you gotta leave it as it is! ANDDD you have to put your video as unlisted until it gets monetized, then once its monetized, you put in all the info and put the video as public. Thats it! OH and if for some reason it gets declined, delete it, go back to your editing software, change the video a bit (make it 10 secondes longer or shorter) and reupload with the same process! DONE"

that's what a friend of mine told me to do and it seems to work for him so give that a shot!

Does it show ads and say the content is owned by someone else? My guess is that the song sounds similar to another song copyrighted, and they have the whole "listening" system built in to detect precise sounds to see if they are copyright or not. Most likely just accept non-monetization or try your best to contact them again.

when you say wont let you monitize were they monitized and they purposely shut it off?

if the songs are yours totally I would suggests claiming them using the content ID system and then uploading. If your selling them on itunes. They will just tag em anyhow as yours. Aside from that I am not sure what else can be done except mailing them at their email address about the fact that you are the creator and copyright holder at copyright@youtube.com <copyright@youtube.com>

I find they dont bother me if i write down when I submit "I created everything in this video I own it all and its all original .. 5 minutes later its monitized" :) you of course actually have to own it and create it all and hold all the rights but those are pretty much the magic words they want to hear "mine mine mine mine own rights all mine!"

sometimes the system is bogged down I have had this happen I then simply remove it from the line and resubmit it with a slightly altered request. Poof it done.

I can't do that though, "The End of You" and others that have alot of views and likes and comments are the videos I can't monetize. That's a great plan for future videos, but I'm not going to take down a video that has 500 views and 30 likes you know? Ugh.... thanks for the advice though.

this is probably the best option. I submitted them for monetization and they were "pending approval" and then I go look today to see if they got approved, and the monetization option just plain isn't there. They just took out the little thing to the right of my video so I can't even click on it to choose monetize or not. I'll probably contact them, thanks!

Check your e-mail. It should have a message saying your video has been unmonetized. In the e-mail it should have a dispute process. I know they did it to me because I riffed an old Public Domain TV show and they denied the review since I didn't have proof it was in the public domain...I should have challenged that but I said f**k it to riffing s**t! Plus StuffShow had to do this with his rap song...I wonder if he heard anything back.

yes they disabled you.. I find if your less descriptive and simply tell them I own the rights I own it all mine mine mine they ask less questions. When I got too detailed they sat pending for ever .. I dont use monitization right now I turned it off due to all the copyfraud going on I just got fed up. However yeah for stuff like that if your going to sell it on itunes anyhow just use the content id system and use that channel. It will go in your pocket no matter what they do .. lol

yeah I think he's still having issues, I haven't checked my e-mail in DAYS LOL I'll go do that.

Not going to lie, I don't know what to do. Most of my videos are just me talking, so they get approved almost instantly. I have a few that are more than that, like a video I made with footage from a pokemon game, and those get rejected for monetization. I'd suggest going to the youtube/adsense help forums. That's your best shot, seeing how youtube doesn't have any form of direct contact.

yeah unless its you talking into a camera they get all wierd. They are overboard now to the point of silliness. I made a software tutorial and they gave me a hard time over that.. that is when I decided to submit it again and say "i did everything in here i own it all i did all the recording all the music is made by me (which it was) no one owns any rights to anything in this video" The tutorial was for open sourced software 3d modelling and texturing lol. That one got stalled so I pulled it down and said those words and it was fine.. /shrug

I am wondering if they are training people or something because with the strange responses and the trouble peopel are having its usually what happens when a large company hires a ton of new lower level customer service types.
