YouTube removed video location for new uploaded videos

Posting Mad!
Have you noticed that YouTube no longer allows you to set video location for new videos?
I know many of you didn't use the function so you won't miss it at all, but 95% of my videos were geo location tagged. I used it almost all the videos, except for the ones filmed at home. Yet another immediate change without prior announcement or is it just a bug that will be fixed soon? Do you still have it for new uploads?

i honestly don't mind i don't want youtube linking my address lol
It wasn't about linking your address, but adding video locations helped some videos by placing them on Google maps. I had once videos filmed at particular streets that appeared in Google maps for the street. They were receiving good amount for views from there

I used to fill this out even though the location nor recording date hasn't appeared since YouTube changed their design multiple times. I remember it would appear when you looked at the stats under the video.

I too noticed this the other day. I mark the location of all of my videos. Kinda bummed that it's gone.

I'm only speculating but there were probably privacy and safety issues with that feature, particularly with children's videos being recorded at home.

I used it in my videos, since our videos are always in different locations. But one day, out of curiosity, I did a search for videos near my home, and found a cluster of videos on a nearby street. When I looked at the videos, it was my best friend's 10 year old son, who had created a YouTube account just to play around with. Shaky, blurry vertical videos of light saber battles with his little cousins, etc. Problem is that the location almost exactly pinpointed his house. I gave my friend a call to let him know and warn him of the potential problems it could cause and walked him through removing the location from each of the videos.

Yeah, I'm sure that's the kind of reason why this feature has been removed.
