Wrote a song about the Ninja Turtles. Can I monetize it?

The song (performed on guitar and sang by me) mentions each of the turtles by name. Will youtube let me monetize this or will it be some sort of copyright violation?

The reason why I ask is if I am unable to monetize, I am going to have some random old ninja turtles comics and toys and stuff in the background of the video. If I can monetize, I won't put them in.

There's nothing wrong with mentioning the names of copyrighted figures in a song. If you sample some copyrighted music though, then you might have a problem.

Awesome! This makes me happy. Now to record the song a million times until I get it correct! It is tricky to play and tend to mess it up at some point.

Cool. If I were to title the song 'The Ninja Turtles song - Original song" would putting Ninja Turtles in the title create a problem?

It may. Trademark law is not as clear cut as copyright law, but even if the character did not infringe on the owner's trademark, most likely YouTube would side with the owner to be on the safe side.
This is just speculation though. You might try googling 'fictional character trademark' and read enough to decide if it's worth the risk of a strike on your account.
