Why Become A Partner?

Ok, after looking around for about a day now I see a lot of emphasis on becoming a partner of some sort with various different organizations. Unfortunately I am confused.

Who are all these partnership people?

Are they affiliated or directly related to YouTube/what exactly is their relationship?

How do they benefit a creator?

When it comes to monetization, do you give up AdSense earnings to be involved with a partner?

Does the AdSense on YouTube pay differently based on subject matter or keywords/ how exactly is that calculated?

I am sure these are total Noob questions and if they have been asked before I apologize.

Who are all these partnership people? different company's that will help manage your account and unlock more features

Are they affiliated or directly related to YouTube/what exactly is their relationship? basically you tube is a partner by choosing another partner they take care of paying you and they take a fee

How do they benefit a creator? they give you more features to make your channel look more professional

When it comes to monetization, do you give up AdSense earnings to be involved with a partner? yes basically the partner takes care of payment

Does the AdSense on YouTube pay differently based on subject matter or keywords/ how exactly is that calculated? its calculated by advertisement clicks and how many times the ad is watched

I am sure these are total Noob questions and if they have been asked before I apologize.

Thank you for your reply. I am really trying to get a grasp of the situation, and you have helped me greatly. If possible can you elaborate a bit to these follow up questions?

"Who are all these partnership people? different company's that will help manage your account and unlock more features " Manage what exacly? What kind of features?

"Are they affiliated or directly related to YouTube/what exactly is their relationship? basically you tube is a partner by choosing another partner they take care of paying you and they take a fee" Are they all then YouTube approved?

"How do they benefit a creator? they give you more features to make your channel look more professional" I assume they don't design your channel so they must give it some sort of enhanced look I'm guessing?

"Does the AdSense on YouTube pay differently based on subject matter or keywords/ how exactly is that calculated? its calculated by advertisement clicks and how many times the ad is watched" What is your experience with the click ads vs the commercials? I ask because recently (last month) mine seemed to change from click to commercial. The amount per click went down but the clicks went up, resulting in a higher click thru ratio. I also get the impression that there is a different amount per view just like adwords, is this true?

Thank You Again

manage as in help decide what ads are displayed (different ads generate different income based on how many click/view them)

they should be approved if youtube allows you to link your channel and partner with them. youtube has to approve it i think.

they allow to use features that "regular" users don't have, like having a banner/custom background on your channel page, etc.

not sure on the last one.

P.S. I love how in ghostlyrich's post, the text got even smaller than the original post. made me lol in real life XD

"Who are all these partnership people? different company's that will help manage your account and unlock more features " Manage what exacly? What kind of features? they manage the funds and give you the banner feature,

"Are they affiliated or directly related to YouTube/what exactly is their relationship? basically you tube is a partner by choosing another partner they take care of paying you and they take a fee" Are they all then YouTube approved? no basically when you sign with a network your getting some one other than you tube to manage your network.

"How do they benefit a creator? they give you more features to make your channel look more professional" I assume they don't design your channel so they must give it some sort of enhanced look I'm guessing? they just unlock the abilitys for you to add a banner and othere little things its up to you to do the channel design

ok, I think I get it, at least the basics. I appreciate ya'll taking the time to respond. (Bryant, I don't know why the text got smaller, that was weird) Haha

Question 1, 2, 3, are related, a "Partner" is able to ad a banner ad to a home page as well as coordinate the specific type of ads relevent, as it sees fit. They are not specifically YouTube but have worked out a relationship of sorts. So does YouTube still offer a "Partnership" of its own?

Question 4 It seems the advertisements are synced with content and commercial ads seem more beneficial.

So as a content creator I can see these questions having merit. But what I am wondering now is ,

Do partnerships help in getting your video linked to other videos, or place it in a home page or directory?

I ask because I know it is important for any web page to have multiple links in the eye of the big "G". I know that the more links and comments the better your video will do and YouTube will promote it themselves because of this.

Thanks for all the helpful information, I can already see this is an awesome forum to be a part of.
