I decided to take a stroll to the Let's Playing forums... God damn are they brutal... They give the most straight forward and honest reviews on why your videos suck... Sometimes not even giving advice on how to make it better.
That honestly makes me sick...
Let's Players, the ones that LP not only for fun but because they enjoy what they do.. Because they want to share experiences with others.. because they want to make good work, and improve it. I realize that not a lot of good feedback is given anywhere I go... Even here... I got maybe 2 people to give me an actually critique of my work and it was an awesome feeling to know that people watched my stuff and had something to say about it.
I love Let's Playing... I do it because when I was a kid... I record with a VCR me playing video games... hoping that one day people would want to watch me... I have a personal connection to video games that I feel makes my style what it is... I'm not trying to make the most perfect LP of a video... I'm trying to put a touch of myself into the game... but I'm always trying to improve, because I owe it to the games and the viewers...
That's what I hope a lot of Let's Players do...
Does anyone agree with me?
If so... I'm glad I'm not alone and I hope that maybe someday we can be a community of LPers who can give criticism that doesn't lower our moral. Help one another without having to make them feel like dirt...
