SHORT VERSION

Hi guys.

Can anyone offer advise on the higher cpm networks. I am not concerned with promotion or community or support. I just want high cpm's as I feel that my background in SEO helps me to promote my channel sufficiently for the time being.

LONG VERSION

Hi guys.

I have a fairly new channel but its growing fast coming up to 2 months old and I have 2640 subs and I gain an average of 51 subs a day over the past 30 days.
Im getting an average of 32,788 views a day over the last 30 days with a total of 1,867,771.

I have been contacted by a lot of networks recently. Ive talked them all around to a 90/10 split but 90/10 of what? I am looking for a network with high average cpm's.
I have done a lot of research and read so many horror stories. Everytime I think my mind is made up I read another horror story about the network I am considering.

I wont bother listing the networks that have contacted me as I am literally considering every network out there although I will say they are some of the more well known networks.

My current average cpm with adsense is $6.45 but I do run mid rolls every 20 minutes in my videos which can last anywhere up to 80 minutes. One of my major issues with adsense is that there are not always ads to display on my videos. I have just less than 35% monetised views to total views. Only around 12% of views are mobile views and over 80% of my views are from English speaking countries from what I can tell. If I click my videos to check (i know i shouldnt) then half the time an ad will appear and half the time they dont. Last month was better. I had over 55% monetised views.

One concern. The thought of a network who simply run adsense ads the majority of the time then take a profit is not ideal but if they somehow get better adsense ads then so be it. Preferably I would like to partner with someone who has a dedicated ad sales team that actively seeks to get the best ads for my videos.

Lastly. I know its hard to predict cpm for the individual channel but know that I am from the UK and my videos are primarily viewed by United States, Germany, Canada, Taiwan, UK, Australia In that order. Believe it or not Taiwan actually shows very good returns on cpm surprisingly.

Thanks to anyone who responds.

Check my thread on Revenue Share that was just posted. Make sure you nail down what the 90/10 actually means. 90/10 Gross offered by most networks is unlikely at the 1-2 Million views per month size.

Just avoid anything associated with BBTV like the plague.

I was just reading that before I noticed your post here xD

Yeah I was in talks with TGN for days and they said they were sending it off to be reviewed by the head of TGN. When I mentioned a 90/10 NET split would be unacceptable they suddenly responded saying after careful consideration they have decided they will not be able to partner me.

Dodged a grenade to the face if what I have been reading on here is anything to go by

Honestly, I think TGN can be good for smaller channels or ones having a hard time with promotion. No lock in contract is an excellent feature that gets you into a community of other gamers. So you can do some social networking, collabs, maybe even put a video up on their hub channel. The pay is just garbage.

I actually considered partnering with them specifically for the hub channel because I run a weekly high production value gaming show that I think I could easily convince them to run weekly as well.

I was intersted in them because of the whole TGN army twitter thing.

To be honest its kinda shady. They post their videos to the TGN army twitter and all the followers click the video and like it to improve trending.

My direct competition(channel doing similar videos) has began to overtake me since he started posting to the TGN army twitter. (yes I keep track of the competition :p)

I would try hitting up Flammy to get some advice

Just to confirm we're on the same page: You are getting $6.45 playback-based CPM with adsense?

I was similar before I joined a network for the first time ~4 months ago. I was getting $5-6 fairly consistently. My main goal was increased CPM, however I personally did care about support especially, but it was definitely secondary in my network choice.

Like you I was open to any network that would offer the best CPMs. I have a gaming channel, but definitely not normal gaming so I didn't really need a "gaming" network or hub channels (wouldn't help my content). I ended up talking to pretty much everyone I could get a hold of. I ended up joining a small, 'high end' network which focuses on large channels only. The network is called SquareOne, under OmniaMedia. My CPM doubled, and has remained very, very solid. If you want to talk in private I will go into more detail if you want. (send me a PM on youtube?)

As for the point on filling ads with 'premium' (network filled) ad vs normal adsense, glad you have realized this, many don't understand the distinction. Indeed, networks usually fill with a majority of adsense ads rather than their own. I know for a fact my network stands out in this regard, but not sure I can share that information as well.
