YTtalk's Chicken Salad
Hi there! My name's Ben and I have been on YTtalk since early 2013! I used to have 500 subscribers and came to this forum looking for inspiration when I was 13. I met so many amazing YouTubers and it took 7 years since joining to get where I am today! (with the help of having a following on TikTok)

I want whoever's reading this to know that the hopelessness and desperation you may feel throughout your YouTube journey is necessary. Don't let it hurt you, embrace it. You may see weeks, months and years of having no success. You'll find your mind playing with the possibility of giving up, but please don't.

Take a look at what you are good at. Find out who your videos appeal to. Don't be afraid to switch it up! What got me in a rut for 7 years was following the same format over and over and trying to copy others, this won't get you anywhere. YOU CAN DO THIS! I was so close to giving up and was working in a seafood restaurant making minimum wage and getting 100 views on my videos before things took off! Now, YouTube has made me able to move from Canada to LA amongst so many other opportunities!

I wish you all the best, good luck!

Brilliant! Congratulations and thanks for sharing this it's a great message.

There are VERY FEW overnight successes that's for sure. It's all about the grind.

Damn, 20 years old and already way ahead of most people... Congratulations.

I sometimes regret not sticking to the projects and ideas I had when I was in my early 20s. It seems to me like I could've been so much farther ahead in life if I just stuck to one thing for a year or two instead of hopping from one shiny thing to another every few months. It certainly feels much harder going through the emotional and mental rollercoaster now that I'm about to hit 30.
Persistence and patience definitely pay off though. I've been slowly biting at this YT project since 2018, it seems like I'm finally getting somewhere, I just don't know where exactly.

That's pretty awesome man. It's actually good to hear stories like yours, because sometimes it feels like some users get an audience almost overnight, like they're naturals at it. So it's encouraging can reach the success that you have through hard work and determination. Congrats man!
