When Is Applying To A Network Beneficial?

I'd like to preface this by saying I'm not curious in joining a network. I'm just looking for some extra information to understand partnerships a bit more.

So, in short, when is it beneficial to join a network? With YouTube changing soon it seems like getting partnered on YouTube isn't as much of a big deal. I understand that you'll get access to certain music or footage due to copyrights, but otherwise is there a sweet number of how many subs or daily average views you should have?

I figured this thread existed, but I had trouble finding it.

Depending on the network 84-250,000 views a day, All networks give different features, many pay higher then Adsense, some pay alot higher than adsense...
