Whats the deal with monetizing gaming videos

So quite simply, what are the do's and don'ts when it comes to monetizing gaming videos. I assumed it would all be third party content but obviously not due to the amount of gaming channels. I have seen quite a few people complain though when their vids get taken down so yeah, essentially, what is the deal?

There are different things to consider when monetizing gameplay:

1) Check the publishers video policy and see if you are allowed to monetize their games.
2) Make sure that you monetize under fair-use. This means using commentary.
3) Some publishers will possibly require a license, in this case, a document must be signed which states you can monetize the video if certain conditions are met.
