what would you do if you were me?

I just got some spam, it is this guy who says "please watch my videos, if you subscribe to me I will subscribe to you, and if I like your videos I will even box you on my channel, which has 70'000 views and 900 subscribers. I'm thinking "heck yes!!! I want to be boxed on that!"

So then I go watch his video... it is him drinking EVERY VIDEO. And I don't mean, drinking while he does something interesting, I mean he sits in front of the camera, and drinks a 40, or drinks a bottle of wine, or drinks a 6 pack, he just drinks on camera. That's IT. Not only can I not get behind the boring nature of his content, I'm a recovering alcoholic! I don't take that crap lightly, its nearly ruined my life.

But at the same time... if he's serious, and he were to come to my channel because I subscribed, like my stuff, and box me, that's 900 possible new subs for me.... I am really torn, the selfish part of me that wants his subscribers wants to do it anyway, the moral part of me feels like I can't do it in good conscience.... what would you do?

Well if I thought that all his subscribers were just drunks themselves who wouldn't actually like my content I'd totally agree. But maybe they're just people who are worried about him, or people who just think it's funny to watch drunk people, I mean there may very well be people on there who are totally normal and would like my content. It's just that clicking that subscribe button says to my 31 subscribers, "I watched this and I liked it" And anyone who comes to my channel and looks through my subscriptions will get the same message... I just don't think any way I look at it it's worth the spiritual repercussions, I'm like 90 percent sure I'm not doing it.

(On and on a side note, even if they are drunk subscribers, I'm sure people buzzin off alcohol could still very easily enjoy my videos. Alot of the content is inspired by my old drinking habits, and a lubricated mind is going to be more willing to accept off the wall goofiness)

I caved in and did it. I wrote him telling him I couldn't promote drunkeness and I would love him to watch my videos anyway. I also told him he may need to consider getting help. He wrote back and said "oh, that guy drinking in the videos isn't me, he's just this guy we all laugh at because he gets drunk and does stupid things. We're not promoting his drunkeness, we're laughing at it" Well.... hearing that.... thinking of all those potential subscribers.... I did it... I'm a bad person... you can slap me on the wrist now.

Yeah that's kinda how I feel, I just have serious feelings about alcoholism cause it's really screwed me up in the past. But you're right, I mean, why turn down all that possible exposure. He claims he'll watch my videos tomorrow, hope he's not BSing! And furthermore, I hope he's like "oh man, symphonious, you be so funny and cool and sexy, here, take my wife, she's a millionaire and wants to take care of you forever!" Oh crap... I'm drooling on my shirt again... sheesh...
