What would be the perfect YouTube Network (MCN)?

I'm reading and learning lot about YouTube networks (MCNs) these days and how each are different and offer different services and rates.

I've dealt and been signed with R3 for the past year and I'm content. I've also talked to a lot of others and discovered what's out there.

That said, I've heard a lot from them but I'd like to hear a YouTuber's perspective would be on what would the best network solution would be for them.

If you sign up to a network, what do you consider a fair rate depending on what they do for you?

What kind of services do you expect from an MCN?

If your channel was big enough for them to focus on selling ads, ONLY for your channel. I think you could reach a CPM of 40+ dollars. That would also mean you would have intense partner care, they would be willing to do a lot for you, seeing as you're probably rocking a 90/10 split.

That's my envision of the perfect network, crazy high CPM, a lot of interest in you particularly, and a high split. Oh and a dashboard pls.

The perfect MCN, and I've talked briefly with Flammy on some aspects of this because he's had a good experience, is a tiered approach.

Ideally, the MCN would have multiple options. (The following are just examples to illustrate the point) 80/20 with no promotion, 70/30 with channel art / video inros created, 60/40 with the art plus active hub or other style promotion. Likely on a 6 month to one year contract and at each step, the partner could select which option they need most for the next 6 months / one year. Essentially at each stage the partner is giving money back to the network in exchange for a service of some kind.

They would also be open and transparent to the partners. Leave Analytics on. Stop advertising Net percentages with all kinds of additions taken out before you even get a chance at a cut. Stop pretending that even the smallest YouTuber is going to get huge just by subscribing. Etc.

Even more than this it just has to make sense. Good for network& good for partners means it needs to be as good compromise.

The network gets a profit, some fixed amount for smaller channels ($15 a month?) and a fixed % for larger channels (2-5%?). This covers basic stuff like payment processing, payment fees, click protection

Support, graphic designs, etc would be in addition to this, but be 'buyable' directly thru the network.

Hmm... I'd get like, 90%, and dey'd get like, 10%. Den I'd be rich and stuff. An' den I'd be all happy and stuff. Muahahahaha

Great comments guys, I personally feel that the most important thing is to be fair and that the creator feels like they are getting their money's worth.

When you think about it, networks deal with YouTubers who have huge followings and are very vocal so the very last thing you'd want to do it p**s them off!
