What must I do to profit off a video game??

My understanding is, I need get some YouTube copyright letter. Send that to the game developers, the game developer will send me a email back explaining that I can profit off a video. Then I send that letter YouTube.
Is this correct?
If so where do I find the YouTube copyright letter? (to send to the game developers)
 
It depends on the game, for about 80% of games by major publishers you`ll need a license to use them as a visual of a video.
If you`re with a YouTube gaming network they`ll usually provide some.

Some games like Minecraft don`t require them
Some games like CoD require them but let alot of people away with not having them.
Some games like by Rockstar games and EA are strict and will come down with a strike even just for uploading a game of theres. (rockstar game`s license is really hard to get)
And then a few companys such as Microsoft require a revenue split , license and disclaimer which very few people/networks have.

For a small channel like yours it will be close to impossible to get licenses from most of the main publishers or developers and that`s why many smaller channels are partnering with gaming networks.

And btw it`s not just for making money off games those "80% of games by major publishers" require a license just to upload the game footage as visuals.

1. Don't play & Record for money do it a passion money is not the way of youtube it is like harry potter the money ( philosophers stone) will only come to those who do not seek it or wish to use it for evil...........or something of that effect ;).

You don't have to worry about that one. I absolutely LOVE making videos! and I was recording and posting even before I knew about the partnership/money thing.
 
Oh upps! I didnt even know about this before. I have been posting gaming material all the time without any problems... But my channel is quite small
