Yes, this is everyone's struggle. The perfectly healthy, the mentally challenged, the talented, the non talented, it doesn't matter who you are or what you're doing, people will criticize you. People have this weird inability to see the oneness in everything. When they make mistakes they understand, with all kinds of excuses "I was so worn out that week!" "I'm impulsive I didn't mean it!" "Everything in my life was going wrong I was in a bad place!!" But then when other people do things they don't approve of, they just criticize and cut no slack, for some reason they have endless understanding for their own shortcomings, but none for others.

Now this relates to you in this subject because many of the people telling you you shouldn't sing are people who have hobbies they would love to jump into but don't for fear of criticism. Yet here they are being the very thing they wish would go away so they could pursue their own creative interests. Here's a secret Chloe. Scoffing by nature is foolish. Mocking is foolish. Mockers, and scoffers, are fools.

It is a virtue to have your eyes wide open and see the mistakes in others, it is also a virtue to then look at those mistakes from many angles and try to figure out the reason behind them, the whole time losing no respect for the person who made the mistake, and then encouraging them to improve in a positive way. It is a virtue to try to see other people's points of view. What is NOT a virtue is trying to DIScourage people from pursuing what makes them happy, and then pointing out everything you perceive to be wrong with it like it's fact and not just your perception.

People are telling you to not sing because they think you are embarrassing yourself. But the only person feeling embarrassed is them. They are embarrassed because they are too uptight to enjoy how much fun you're having. They are too embarrassed of themselves and life to be able to say "not every part was on pitch but I just love her passion and confidence!" No, these people feel uncomfortable as their normal every day state of mind, when they see you doing something they think you are not talented enough to be sharing, now their average level of discomfort grows, they then drop their OWN embarrassment onto you and try to tell you YOU should feel embarrassed.

In reality it is them who have growing up to do and need to learn a thing or two. You just keep singing, and doing what makes you happy. And above all remember, YOU are the ultimate and most worthy judge of what you should do with your life. Other opinions are fine to consider, but it is what feels right to YOU that matters. If you want to sing for youtube because it makes you feel good, open minded people will see it as good too. Sing for them, and let everyone else go sit on a rake.

Yeah your right symph :) I have actually changed my path a bit with YouTube I would rather vlog now because when I was singing on YouTube it was good but not as hood as performing live and I kept on thinking that what I'm singing isn't good enough without meaning to it kind of just happened the world will see me sing again if I get into one of those talent shows:)

Chloe, in all honesty, without me sugar coating cause I like you, I enjoy watching you sing. No you are not a professional and no you don't hit all the notes perfectly, but you always have so much excitement and it's obvious you love to do it, and that makes me happy, I would tell you if I thought it was bad :)
