Video review please :) New Lighting...

Hey guys,

Been a while since I have posted, hectic busy lately. We were able to make a new video and uploaded it on Sunday. We recently got 2 new lights, very cheap but they seem to do the trick. I am also concerned about the content and the flow of it all, does it make sense and flow? Do the viewers understand that it is a comment on the news (South African news). How was the editing?

Any other comments would seriously help out a lot! Thanks in advance! :)
 
If "Breast Feeding" was the latest video then things are looking good. You've got really compelling content. The criticisms that you make are quirky and absurd, but stem from real observation. The intro was a bit masturbatory, perhaps cut it in half, or show more contrast in actions-- or you may lose viewers before it get's great. The new lighting is well exposed, and brings the video to life-- try to diffuse your light with pink gel or tuff-spun diffusion, really make it pro, and set your lights up higher than your eyes and lightly off to the side, so that you get a soft loop shadow from your nose, pointing away from your mouth and cheekbone. Rim lighting, that light edge around the back of a subject, can really improve things, and on that note, try to stage actors farther away from walls to avoid harsh shadows. You guys have a great dynamic, and are quite entertaining. Hope the criticism is helpful
 
Thanks a lot! Yeah the breastfeeding one is our previous one, I cut out the "intro" thing from now on as I agree with you on that one haha. Pink gel? I shall try that! And this is a really simple idea of putting the actors a bit away from the wall... Do not know why I did not think about that. Thanks for the comments!
