Video Editing Software

Florian Popp

good vibes!!
So I'm making videos (obviously)
but so far I only used the windows movie maker, but I hate it. I can't get realy creative for there are so few possibilities.
So my question is --> do you no any good programms? (best would be for free, but well I cannot always want the free stuff and expect it to be great)

Thanks for your help ;)!

videopad video editor is free.... otherwise many people use SONY VEGAS or PREMIER PRO!
I use movie maker and magix movie edit pro :D

I personally wouldn't recommend Premiere Pro if you're new to editing. It's got a fairly steep learning curve (or I'm just not getting it). Vegas Movie Studio comes pretty cheap, and is an awesome and simple editing program.

I just looked for videopad video editor but it sais that the free version is only for privit use.
Well I doubt that youtube is privit enough :).
So I better save some money and buy maybe Sony Vegas (must have a reason why so many people use it)

Cheers man, have a nice day;)[DOUBLEPOST=1423572962,1423572718][/DOUBLEPOST]

oh hey thank you very much. that's even better. I bet Vegas Movie Studio is the small brother of Sony Vegas Pro
so I better try to get the best out of the small one and if I need something even better I still can upgrade. Thanks for your help

I use Sony Vegas and it's awesome! Many YouTubers use is as well, one of them is Matthew Santoro. Sony Vegas is easy, cheap, simple software to edit videos. It is basically made to "edit" videos and add a little effect to it. It's not like Premier Pro where you can add flashy laser type of thing with sprinkle or rainbows falling from the sky, Sony Vegas is just straight forward editing, where as Premier Pro use a lot in editing and animating or adding Video FX.

Well to be honest it's hard to find a good editing software for free :sour2:

I personally use Premiere Pro. It really depends on how fast you learn and what kind experience you already have. I had some little difficulties in the beginning but now I'm so glad I'm using it cause there are soooo many possibilites. Another program I can think of is Sony Vegas (I don't really know which one's cheaper). I used it before but am definitely a bigger fan of the Adobe products. :)

Sony Vegas is a great piece of software, it's powerful and really easy to use.

Premier Pro definitely has the learning curve but it's the superior software. It's very powerful, renders quickly, and has great cross-over with After Effects when you're learning more advanced editing. This is my choice :P

Any sort of free software is going to have a catch somewhere or is going to be as useless as Movie Maker so just avoid it all together if you want to be able to make high quality content.

I'd say go with Sony Vegas if you wanna improve your composing skills without worrying about technical ability. Go with Premier Pro if you wanna jump in the deep end :D

yes that's what I'm gonna do learn with the simple stuff and then pimp it when i think it is appropriate ;)

You can do video editing with Blender. It's free, but it has a huge learning curve. It's gear towards 3D animation, but I find that it works well with standard video. I use it for all my videos.

Some video editing software suits the person's needs perfectly and there'll be no need to get some fancy software if you don't need it.

An idea would be to find youtubers who make the sort of videos you want to make and find out what software they use so you at least can start on the right foot.
